SMALL GROUPS & COURSES

We have established different kinds of small groups for the Village Church so that everyone has a place where they feel they belong and where they can serve and grow in their journey with Jesus. Some groups we’ve offered are:

1. Alpha – a Christianity basics course
2. Mentoring – one-on-one mentoring/coaching
3. High School Youth Group

Over the last couple of years we have also had the opportunity to offer a variety of courses and support groups in the community, some of which have been held at the Nick Basciano Community Centre on Richmond Street. We have really enjoyed our partnership with the Thorold Community Activities Group to make these courses possible. We’ve offered groups on parenting (“Have a New Kid by Friday”), budgeting and more. We’ve hosted several DivorceCare support groups as well.

Overall, we want to offer groups that will benefit the community and therefore, we keep the costs very low so it can be accessible to all.

Check our Small Groups page for more details.
Other “small groups” you can join are our various Volunteer Teams. Why not join the Set-up/Clean Up Team that helps out on Sunday mornings? They meet a couple times a year and everyone is on a rotation to help every 4-6 weeks. Your team becomes your small group. It’s also a great way to get involved in our church. There are other teams like this if set-up isn’t your thing there are other Sunday Volunteer Teams you can join: Hospitality, Food Services, Audio/Video Tech Team.

Each Sunday we also have a team that leads worship and visits at Cobblestone Gardens in Thorold.

Other Volunteer Teams that operate during the week are: Our R.A.K.E. Team (Random Acts of Kindness), our Thorold Love Team and more.
